چکیده

Three patients who developed bilateral anterior uveitis at the end of, or soon after, the apparently successful treatment of visceral leishmaniasis are described. The uveitis gave rise to secondary glaucoma in 2 of the patients, and in the third patient the eye lesions were associated with an episode of post kala-azar dermal leishmaniasis.

Post-kala-azar dermal leishmaniasis in visceral leishmaniasis-endemic communities in Bihar, India.

We assessed the prevalence of post-kala-azar dermal leishmaniasis (PKDL), a late cutaneous manifestation of visceral leishmaniasis (VL), in 16 VL-endemic communities in Bihar, India. The prevalence of confirmed PKDL cases was 4.4 per 10 000 individuals and 7.8 if probable cases were also considered.
